Review of The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987) by Joseph A. S — 30 Sep 2014
The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987) is complete and utter garbage! The equivalent of gross-out comedies for the whole family! Based on a popular trading card game that was a parody of the "Cabbage Patch Kids", it features the unclean and disgusting characters known to man. Plus, it has one of the worst bullies with hideous 80s fashion along with a kid named Dodger, Capt. Manzini and Tangerine (who is working with the bullies and Dodger). Everything is bad, horrible, disgusting, vile, painful, ugly, nasty, stinky, and downright despicable! Can somebody grab an Air Wick? It only gets worse, when they sing one song (and only one song!!), go see a "Three Stooges" short in theatres, go to "The Toughest Bar In Town", crushes one of the bullies red convertible with a "Pepsi" truck (how is that possible?) and gets caught and send to "The State Home For The Ugly" featuring a Weird-Al Yankovic look-alike, Santa Claus, Gandhi (WTF!) and more. And of course, the disastrous fashion filled with vomit, farts, and other gross-out stuff. Followed by stripping the ladies clothes off and a huge fight between Dodger and the leader of the bullies. Just Awful!
Wasted talents of Mackenzie Astin (The Facts of Life, younger brother of Sean Astin) and Anthony Newley. As well as Katie Barberi (who went on to do Telemundo Novellas (Spanish Soap-Operas) and *shocked* legendary voice actor Jim Cummings!
