Review of The Game (1997) by Timm S — 26 Jul 2011
This would be the second film I saw on my weekend off a few weeks ago. I must say, I was really disappointed by this one. I've seen a good amount of David Fincher's films and I really like every one I've seen, from "Se7en" to "Fight Club" to "The Social Network".
But I did not enjoy "The Game". Once again, it has a really great premise, and hearing the synopsis and watching the trailer, I was definitely interested. But once I got into it, it just seemed really boring and tedious.
Some parts were better than others, the actors, especially Michael Douglas, did a good job, and it is shot fantastically, but compared to Fincher's other work, I just wasn't impressed. I say skip it, but you may enjoy it.
I would definitely recommend other films in Fincher's filmography over this one.
