Review of The Game (1997) by Tom S — 20 Aug 2012
Fincherâ(TM)s ability to direct the viewerâ(TM)s attention is peerless â" a red bra or a receptionistâ(TM)s dialogue hooks in our minds just as he intends â" and so âThe Gameâ? is thrilling from start to end.
The script is a little too thin for the emotions to settle â" a confrontation between Michael Douglas and his brother (Sean Penn) has almost nothing to offer, though maybe thatâ(TM)s what was intended.
Normally I would feel that its message is too vague but in this case the opaque fits right to form.
