Who are these so-called "Critics" reviewing this movie?! Is it found footage? Obviously. Is it scary? YES. I think people are too busy getting over the found footage part to ACTUALLY enjoy the movie.
None of them seem to remember movies like "Prom Night" (1980) with the still gorgeous Jamie Lee Curtis or her first Halloween (1979), Friday The 13th (1980), The Burning (1981), and maybe even Sleepaway Camp! (1983).
Or maybe they were expecting jump scares using LOUD sounds. That is not SCARY. I did go in thinking it would be the same old, and the opening scene just gave me "The Ring" feel. I had not figured out the twist till right at the end, so it did that well. The use of camera slight of hand was so subtle maybe the Horror connoisseur's just missed it. See this movie, you will enjoy it.
