Review of The Future (2013) by Nick M — 17 Dec 2011
I just don't know where to begin with this movie. Miranda July follows up 2005's masterful 'Me and You and Everyone We Know' with this challenging and emotionally polarizing look into a seemingly stable relationship that falls apart after the couple decides to adopt a cat.
My low rating doesn't imply that it was a bad movie. This is in fact a very good movie that unreasonably infuriated me on many different levels. I cannot say I enjoyed the experience of watching it because I clearly didn't.
'The Future' is without question the film that left me divided the most in 2011. On one hand, I highly respect this movie. On the other, I completely despised it.
