Review of The Future (2013) by Leighton T — 11 Jan 2012

This is one of those cases where I wanted to really like this film, especially with the issues it's dealing with which are some of my own I'm confronting in my own life to a degree, and while I really like the execution of some of it, other parts just don't sit right.

There are elements that go past precocious or cute or even weird, to just plain odd and it doesn't fit the more ethereal things she's bringing out. Some of it works, is even glorious in how she presents it, I just wish the parts that I found disconcerting didn't stick out so much.

Yet, because of that exact thing, it's a film that's sticking with me, and I will want to watch it again to give it another chance.
