Review of The Future (2011) by Caleb C — 26 Dec 2011
From director/writer, Miranda July (Me and You and Everyone We Know) comes here second feature film which has something for anyone with a weird side. It is unique, and may not be liked by all, but it does offer an original experience for most.
It also has a more serious narative by what some may call the LOLcat of the film. This is a very interesting experience, and one of the years better films. It works very well with the awkward humor and uncomfortable situations as well (maybe more so for the audiences anyways).
Fans of films that are far less mainstream than what you would usually see in most theatres are surely to get some pleasure from this film. As much as it makes me cringe to say this, it could be considered a cult hit with the more downtrodden "hipster" crowds.
