Review of The Furies (1950) by Jeff D — 15 Jul 2009
The Furies features fine performances from Barbara Stanwyck and the legendary Walter Huston in his final role. The film gets melodramatic at times, especially in the moments between Stanwyck and Anderson, and the musical score is a bit too overbearing.
Anthony Mann does a fine job directing this small western but it lacks the cinematic breadth of his later epics.
