Review of The Funhouse Massacre (2015) by Nick A — 27 Jun 2016
I'm no Siskel or Ebert but I do know a good Horror Comedy when I see one and The Funhouse Massacre was some seriously good fun. It's fulfills my mentor, Job Bob Briggs "Three B's": Blood, Breasts and Beasts. Well, at least the most important two, unless you're calling Rocco the Clown a beast which I guess he is. Meaning that yeah, there's boobs n'blood, lots of blood. And yeah, it's even got Robert Englund in it. Don't know who he is? Then go run out and run into a crowded street as soon as possible.
Englund definitely isn't the star of the film though. To me that's definitely Deputy Doyle, played by Ben Begley, the guy who co-wrote the film with his wife Renee, who plays the part of the sexy nerdy bumblebee. They must have had a lot of fun writing and acting together in this krazy picture.
I enjoyed the performances of the all the six main psychopaths and especially liked the character Dollface. In fact my girlfriend might dress up like her for Halloween this year!
Good story, great costumes, well written with plenty of laughs, what more can you ask for in a horror comedy? I know, a sequel...
