Review of The Funhouse (1981) by Tyler H — 06 Aug 2007
I really need to stop reaching for horror films. This is a prime example of some potentially good horror elements coming together in the worst way. If you're going to make a slasher flick, make a slasher flick.
Unless you know that you can add a deeper meaning or sense of character behind the film, don't go for it. Absolutely nothing happens in the first half of this film. All we get is a build up for cut-out characters and the illusion that something great it going to happen.
Nope. Practically devoid of gore, we wind up with a movie without blood AND without any impact like Massacre. So what are we left with? Nothing. We don't even get the damn clown from all the advertising.
