Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Chelsea H — 19 Jul 2009
The english humour herein is a classic example of the most perfect documentation of the common man, just about anywhere in England. This is a fantastic story of hope and determination as well as being hysterical and honest. Central to the story is the steel-industry and the life styles of the steel workers, a theme which resonates with millions of british. The sub-plot of Gazza and his son, Nathan, touches the heart. The eventual maturing of all of the characters into stronger, hopeful men is great.
Overall this is a wonderful film, populated by dazzling performances (Tom Wilkenson). Elevating english humour to a whole new stratosphere, The Full Monty deserves further lauding.
