Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Nate W — 15 Jul 2010
"The Full Monty" is an endearing comedy about laid off steelworkers in Sheffield who decide to try and make some money by putting on a striptease act, but find something more valuable than the money to be had in the experience.
Humourous as it is, director Pater Cattaneo and writer Simon Beaufoy infuse just the right amount of more serious undertones, such as the pressures of unemployment, fatherhood, and of course, self image.
The cast is a wonderful bunch, with wonderful performances from Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, and Tom Wilkinson.
