Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Bradley W — 17 Jun 2012
A simply hilarious film about 6 completely different misfits of society, all suffering with personal problems one way or another, (mainly as a result of recent redundancies and lack of local job opportunities), trying to make a buck or two by taking ones clothes off.
Despite the concept seeming very far fetched and desperate, it somehow captures the audience and even comes across as a very realistic portrayal of events, like it were an everyday occurrence of life in Sheffield.
It is not jam packed full of stunts, special effects or spectacular blockbuster moments, but its continuous humour throughout makes it one of the most entertaining films around. It even includes a scene featuring the road I used to live on whilst at University (when Gerald throws the papers in the bin)! Having originally thought this would be a chick flick when first brought out to cinema, it's actually nothing of the sought, and would easily be recommendable to anyone of any age who enjoys a good laugh! It even makes me think that a skinny pigeon chested tosser like myself could make a bit of money from stripping.
.........or maybe not!!!
