Not bad. The mixture of a ridiculous concept of stripping for the comedy purposes and the more serious aspect of pit and factory closures in the north leading to high unemployment and bleak prospects strangely works.
Whether this quite deserved the Oscar nomination is debatable but there's no doubt it created its own slice of cinema history. You hear Hot Stuff and immediately you picture the queuing scene.
