Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Briton D — 14 Dec 2008
This, in my opinion, is what being a man is all about: not necessarily being "sexy", but feeling wanted. Not being the sole "provider", but still being able to support and provide for your family.
Being faithful to your wife and your friends, even going through somewhat silly things for them. The film (and the 2001 musical based on it) shows us that women can be just as judgmental as men when it comes to looks and who "should" be dancing and looking sexy.
I think men AND women benefit from seeing this, as I hope will teach us all that to be a man, you don't have to be tough or sexy or whatever. You have to be decent, caring, internally strong, confident and willing to take a leap of faith every now and again.
