Review of The Fugitive (1993) by Curren W — 09 Mar 2011
The Fugitive sets the standard for chase thrillers. It starts off by setting up a protagonist that we can care for; a doctor who doesn't want anyone to get hurt. Then, it gives him a conflict; his wife gets murdered by a mysterious man with one arm, and the police find him to be guilty of the crime.
It manages to throw together every possible curve as he ventures through the city to find the mysterious killer, and every step of the way, we want him to make it out. The plot is well-constructed, the cinematography is well-established, and the performances are stellar, primarily from Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
