Review of The Fugitive (1993) by Stan D — 27 May 2013
This is the movie that was based on the classic TV series, about a doctor who is falsely accused and convicted of killing his wife. He escapes and searches for a one-armed man who was the real killer. The Doctor, Richard Kimble, is played perfectly by the great Harrison Ford, who should have received an Oscar for this role, but of course never received one, although the movies he has starred in have grossed more dollars than any other actor or actress.
Tommy Lee Jones played Lieutenant Gerard, who chased Kimble, and this was a breakthrough role for Jones, who played starring roles after this movie, after a career of playing villains. This is a riveting, compelling, entertaining thriller.
