Review of The Front (1976) by Kyle H — 18 Jan 2008
I was planning to make January a month of entirely Woody Allen DIRECTED movies but I accidentally put this one in which he only ACTED on my netflix queue. However, it all evened out because the Woodman brought enough of his own style to this brave drama with some comic spurts from and mostly everyone in the cast, which is basically my favorite type of filmmaking.
I nearly gave this 3 and a half stars but the ending which gave freedom to those who had to endure the UnAmerican Committee meetings was spot-on and perfect. Terrific.
