Review of The Frighteners (1996) by Trent C — 22 Oct 2008
It's a low point for Peter Jackson, but even his low points are better than most directors' highs. It's an entertaining movie, but it just barely holds my interest. The special effects were revolutionary, being the first works by WETA workshop.
I think the real problem with this movie is Robert Zemekis' fingerprints. I know Peter Jackson was able to do pretty much all he wanted, but I feel Zemekis influence.
