I have no idea what Jackson or the producers must have been thinking. It's got the over the top acting, retarded soundtrack and dumb writing of the worst 90's live action disney movies (things little kids like) and gruesome imagery, a lot of violence, and blood blood blood (things horror fans like).
The mix of the two doesn't work at all and you're just left with a mess that has no audience whatsoever.
