Review of The Frighteners (1996) by Chris S — 11 Oct 2010
100 bad one-liners, three funny moments, cheesy poorly acted scenes and some really decent (for 96) cgi. Don't watch this movie unless you have to, I've only saw the "director's cut" which was way too long, but I can't imagine the other cut is any good.
I haven't been this disappointed in a director's older work since I rewatched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Poor excuse to put CGI and effects way way before any writing. Peter Jackson needs to stick to adaptations as much as Tim Burton needs to create more original work, now I want to watch Beatlejuice.
