Review of The Frighteners (1996) by Claudia G — 29 Nov 2012
A severely underrated early collaboration by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. An unpredictable ghost story that never the less works because it stays true to the unique logic that drives it. While the film is, like much of Jackson's early work, perverse, it is also surprisingly scary.
Fox (who plays his character strait) delivers a stellar performance and this anchors the movie.
