Review of The French Connection (1971) by Sanford R — 29 May 2009
Gritty and realistically shot rogue/dirty cop thriller, featuring the dynamite duo of Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider. The much-touted car chase is a let down though. Having the car chase a train instead of another car just reduces the stakes a bit.
And the ending would have been great if not for the title cards.
