Review of The French Connection (1971) by Francis Rhoan L — 03 Jan 2010
Gene hackman and roy scheider are very believable as 2 hard-nosed narcotic officers who stumble onto what turned to be the biggest narcotics haul to date. as suave and cool as the 2 cops are overworked, tired and mean, fernando rey is the french mastermind of the almost perfect criminal plan.
I like the train-automobile chase scene, it is almost too tense to be enjoyable. the camera explores most of manhattan and much of brooklyn in 70's without prettifying the background.
