Review of The French Connection (1971) by Adam C — 25 Apr 2011
You ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?
Best cop movie, ever! My favorite scene is the car chase where Gene Hackman is driving beneath an el-train in New York, trying to chase the train. There's one part of the scene where a woman is crossing the road with a baby carriage. I watched a making of the film once that said that was real -- the set was closed but somehow the woman was crossing the street in real time. They only did one take, according to the "making of" info. If that's true, it's amazing that no one was hurt.
