Review of The Freebie (2010) by Sam S — 29 Jul 2011
The great thing about small films like this is that the emotions on display are real. Everything seems legit when you have a gritty little movie that's mostly just two people existing with one another.
This is an entirely realistic portrayal of how things can turn out and you believe every moment of it. Katie Aselton needs to continue directing because she has a wonderful voice and I'd love to see more of it on the screen.
I'm so glad Dax Shepard broke away from the idiot comedies he was falling into and has proven himself a wonderful actor in dramatic pieces like this and Parenthood.
