Review of The Fourth Kind (2009) by Matthew K — 30 Oct 2010
Just heard it from my brother⦠I didn't know a thing about it when I sat down. By the end of the movie I was sitting in my seat and staring at the screen with hollow eyes.
I looked at my brother and our faces said: "No way... but... no, couldn't be... good god!".
The use of real vs. recreated footage gets you. The sounds in the real footage and recordings will REALLY get you. Milla does a wonderful job scaring in the audience. Liked her from the fifth element. the opening was fabulous, where Milla walk on screen and say "I'm actress Milla Jovovich and I will be portraying Dr. Abigail Tylerâ¦â¦â¦â¦.What you are about to see is extremely disturbing." Giving us the exact creep we need. I also just have to say that I loved the fact that they did not show the aliens, showing them would have ruined the fun.
This movie is a great way to spend 1 1/2 hours. Itâ(TM)s got great fright with disturbing moments and parts that make you jump out of your seat.
Some movies are made just to provide entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less. This is one of those films. Do yourself a favor and don't research the film before you go in. This is a movie that needs to be taken in with a blank and open mind to be appreciated.
