Review of The Fourth Kind (2009) by Vasco M — 08 Apr 2015
"The Fourth Kind" is the supposed "true story" of a psychologist whose patients are all experiencing some sort of night terror that involves this specific owl. Over time, however, the patients soon start to discover what really is making them experience their night troubles, and it certainly isn't the owl.
With the plot out of the way, I unfortunately have to say that I did not care for this horror film. It simply is not scary, though I applaud the film's way of not throwing jump scares all over the place. But, there wasn't really a sense of tension throughout the film. And I definitely despised the way it was directed, with multiple rotating scenes for no apparent reason and adding the actual footage mixed with the acting at the same time was a poor decision.
Overall, with no tension and dull directing, "The Fourth Kind" is a could-have-been film that flopped big time. 1.8/10.
