Review of The Fourth Angel (2001) by David S — 04 Dec 2007
A low-budget thriller from John Irvin, a director known for rather mediocre handling of material. This film is no different, with Irvin providing workman-like direction to a rather conventional and uninspiring thriller formula.
The film's run-of-the-mill demeanor is elevated somewhat by the performances of Jeremy Irons and Forest Whitaker, two academy-award winning actors who always good no matter how bad the material is that their working with.
.. how on earth did Irvin get them to be in this movie?
