Review of The Four Musketeers (1974) by Nate A — 15 Apr 2011
Not really a sequel as it's the second half of the first movie, which is one of the best swashbucklers ever made and by far the best adaptation of the Dumas classic. While I've seen that first part a couple of times, I had never seen this.
This is basically more of the same, which isn't bad. Witty, charming, inventive, and exciting. However, it takes a very dark turn near the end that doesn't really jive with what came before. Still, it's an excellent adventure film. Wish more movies like this were made these days.
