Review of The Fountainhead (1949) by Marie P — 31 Oct 2007
I would recommend seeing this if you're really taken with the book, because it's well adapted, but if you're not a fan, it may seem elitist and dated. If you're wanting to see some of the most blistering onscreen chemistry, it's here between lovers Cooper and Patricia Neal.
Sets are wonderful - the quarry shots amazing - and granite-faced Raymond Massey gets his dibs in, too, amid stiff acting competition. King Vidor directed, 1949.
