Review of The Fountain (2006) by Kim B — 20 Dec 2011
Technically I probably should give it less stars, but the visuals are just stellar. Very artsy, amazing score, great shots, fantastic to look at with lots of symbolism and imagination. Some people say this is their favorite movie, I don't know why but I think Jackman gives his best performance.
I mean it's romantic but super cliche and paper-thin and for a romance with hugh jackman their wasn't that much sexiness. The part with him choking someone was kinda silly. I actually was more interested in the subplot of the inquisition than the actual story and the script kinda stunk.
Their was no back story to their romance so it was hard to feel for their love story. I think it had a lot of potential with great artistic details it just needed to be developed and the ending was a little confusing.
