Review of The Fountain (2006) by Tim R — 20 May 2012
A movie that's sole design seems to be to confound and entrance its audience. It manages to do both - Which one it does more will depend on your own personal opinion of the film. It certainly has some striking, unforgettable visuals, but it spends too much time middling in the 'real world' story where not much seems to happen until the climax.
On repeat viewings, maybe I'll find something new to grasp on to and examine, but for now it's just a complete mind-rape that sports a wonderful performance by Hugh Jackman.
