Review of The Founder (2016) by Stephen Y — 30 Jan 2017
McDonald's impact across the world can hardly be overstated, and Ray Kroc, the central character in "The Founder" who made it "the new American church", and his questionable business ethics is what got it there - at the expense of the McDonald brothers, the inventors of the concept. "The Founder" is fascinating look into how an empire starts, and the victims along its way.
The screenplay manages to avoid the worst excesses in expository dialogue, and at least creates a feeling of being somewhat believable with regards to the characters and their interactions, unlike many lesser biopics.
