If you take The Social Network (2010) but replace the business of Facebook with the business of McDonalds you have The Founder. The Founder is about Ray Kroc a struggling milk shake machine salesman who convinces the McDonald brothers to make a franchise out of their restaurant McDonalds, however as the franchise gets bigger Kroc gets greedier.

I had no real plan to see The Founder in fact I haven't even heard of it till just recently and I am really happy I saw this film. Michael Keaton plays Ray Kroc and its such an underrated performance, sure it wasn't breath taking but it was still a great performance from Keaton.

However though Keaton was great in this film I thought Nick Offerman's performance as Dick McDonald, was the best in my opinion he definitely stole the show and the reason I say that is because if you watch Parks and Recreation (2009), you would know that he plays the iconic Ron Swanson, and obviously Ron Swanson is the best character Offerman has played it was just so great to see him tackle in a much more serious role.

Same thing is true with B.J Novak who plays Harry Sonneborn, Novak is best known as Ryan Howard from The Office (2005) and seeing him tackle a more serious role is great as well. I hope to see Novak and Offerman in more films like this one.

Other people in the film such as Patrick Wilson, Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, and John Caroll Lynch all do a great job in this film as well. Though The Founder is a great film do not expect this to be a happy film, as the film progresses you really start to feel a bit of dislike towards the protagonist Ray Kroc however you also start to think to yourself reasons as to why Kroc did what he did.

The Founder is a surprisingly great biography film, that finally states something positive about McDonalds, if you are looking for a fast paced biography film than I recommend the Founder for you, I am positive you will enjoy it.
