Review of The Forsaken (2001) by Drew H — 18 Nov 2007
Once you experience the fine essence of Anne Rice's adaptation of vampires, all other attempts at make something different of them just seem pathetic. You can really see how this movie tried to be creative with having desert-dwelling vampire punks, who pray on the highway uses, while using the lonely isolation as an eerie backdrop - but it really didn't work.
In the end they're just your average cliche Hollywood vampires who you can only relate to through the pure fact that you've seen them a billion times before. This movie however just seemed to be made up of one long car ride, and it's tiring, especially when they replay the same events over and over.
If it wasn't for the nudity, I would have physically died via boredom.
