Review of The Forest (2016) by Will K — 07 Jan 2016
The first weekend of January has always been known for cranking out some of the worst Horror films of that specific year (i.e. "Texas Chainsaw 3D, "Woman In Black 2"). "The Forest" is no different.
With a solid and creepy trailer, I had some standards for this despite the release date timing. The entire film is nothing more than a hollow plot-less bore of a woman walking around a forest in Japan.
With tired jump scares, worthless characters, and its tame "PG-13" rating, "The Forest" is destined to be one of the worst films of 2016. This is not to knock "PG-13" Horror either.
Plenty of great films in the genre have been successful (i.e. "The Ring", "Insidious" and the more recent "Krampus"). Fingers crossed "The Boy" does not go down this same route.
