Review of The Forest (2016) by Allie T — 06 Sep 2016
The worst thing this film does is take absolutely no sensitivity towards their subject matter. They exploit the "spookiness" of Aokigahara, without honoring the somberness and very real scenario for many Japanese families.
Natalie Dormer gives a striking performance, but unfortunately has very little to work with. The plot seems to run in every which direction, becoming more confusing, than rewarding to watch.
