Have you ever seen a movie where the reviews so failed to match the basic plot of the movie ???

Also, much much better than the reviews and the rating. The film posits a world where Japanese folk lore presents as the main character's internal reality. Her sanity is threatened, then challenged, then strained to breaking. The scenes are not pretty. There is one helluva murder, for example.

Tthis tale is not the stuff of "horror film cliches" or "ghost story-type potential." Not at all. The reviews are terrible. They miss the central point of what is happening.

This is a tale of insanity. Murder. Self-harm. A slit wrist. Parental murder-suicide. It is in no way a two-bit ghost story.

Natalie Dormer's "Sara" acquires her delusions honestly Loving her twin sister is the central motivation, the main road for this journey..That is what gives the tale its impact and very little is wasted.

Weakness: they made this film on about $1.25. It shows. You see similar weaknesses in the early Kurosawa films. At least they got to make it.
