Review of The Forbidden Kingdom (2008) by Ian A — 31 Mar 2012
Like most martial arts films there is little you should expect from the plot, though the plot of this one could have been worse. Still it's quite fantastical with an interesting blend of Americanism and Chinese martial arts style films.
But of course what makes the film is the team up of Jackie Chan and Jet Li, two of the biggest martial arts stars together in the same film for the first time. There's plenty of action to please the viewer while still throwing in tidbits of important life values if you listen closely enough to catch them.
And of course there is a 10-15 minute sparring seen between Chan and Li. But if you're not a fan of martial arts, this film is not for you.
