Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Ollie E — 13 Nov 2009
After seeing and loving Pineapple Express, Observe & Report, and Eastbound & Down I had high hopes for this movie. Unfortunately, it was Jody Hill and Danny McBride's first major outing and their inexperience shows.
Their knack for comedy does shine through, just not often enough. I laughed so hard at the quote "Meditation is terrific and all, but I've never heard of it saving anyone from a gang rape type situation.
Meditate on that. Rape," and the scene where the old lady gets KTFO I was afraid I was going to choke. But overall the film lacks a cohesive story, professional cinematography of a Hollywood film, and enough laughs to sustain its short run-time.
