I don't require likable characters in the movies I watch, but I do require entertaining ones in my comedies. I guess I'm not on the McBride train---he can sometimes make me chuckle while in supporting roles, for the most part I find him tiring.
I like awkward humor and I like stupid humor. I even like adults-beating-up-kids-humor. I simply wish I had laughed more.
If they had used the alternate ending on the DVD, my star rating would have tripled.
