Review of The Foot Fist Way (2006) by Ryan G — 08 Oct 2008
Danny McBride (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls) writes and stars in this scatter-shot comedy as a dim-witted Tae Kwon Do instructor who, after discovering his wife's infidelity, hits the road to meet his idol Chuck "The Truck" Wallace.
Despite a couple of mild laughs the picture really doesn't work. Director Jody Hill's documentary-style direction doesn't fit the material at all and McBride's character, who is neither funny nor likable in any way, comes across as a grating idiot with no redeemable qualities.
