Matte shots of animals + large live-action puppets that ALMOST seem life-like = THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE IN TERROR! Okay, not really. The effects make me glad that "Star Wars" was only a year away from changing the idea of what could be done with FX.
The characters are also pretty one-dimensional. I'm just glad that it wasn't longer.
