Review of The Fog of War (2003) by V V — 16 Oct 2007
Great documentary. Very detailed and specific about the themes it explores, with excellent balance of unavoidable normative bias and much needed objective insight regarding his controversial career. I did not find McNamara apologetic about his acts, but he's not looking for redemption either.
Kissinger said that McNamara "sold himself too cheaply". H.K. still fights demons on his back, McNamara seems he's not fighting, but it's up to viewer to conclude what's he done with them.
