Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Saskia D — 30 Jan 2008
The Chinese proverb "May you live in interesting times" has also been described as a curse. McNamara, the subject of Morris' 90 min interview certainly lived through some interesting times, having managed a series of international crises whilst serving under Johnson and Kennedy.
Morris' portrait of McNamara is honest, revealing, touching and spookily prophetic. This is a documentary that has not lost its resonance over time.
