Review of The Flowers of War (2011) by Queenie M — 26 Jan 2012
F*cked me up for the 3 hours after coming out the cinema. Maybe because it's the first film where I've seen such realistic brutality filmed on camera or maybe it was pure genius how every scene seem to aid in your own imagination about the scene where no1 wanted to see.
I cried from 10minutes in.... Feel sick at one scene (never happened before), shocked at others, gripped my cousins arms as if to say "I don't want to watch anymore". Ended with tears. It's a brilliant film.
. But not one for the faint hearted.
