Review of The Flowers of War (2011) by Debanjan C — 07 Oct 2012
The Flowers of War stars Cristian Bale as a mortician who finds himself in the war-ravaged Chinese town, Nanking. He comes across a group of convent girls and prostitutes who feel that he is their only hope of getting out of the Japanese occupied town.
'The Flowers of War' is heavy on cliches, which at times works for it but it's heart-wrenching at times aswell and an ending that leaves you stunned. Cristian Bale is the soul and backbone of this movie and without his presence the movie wouldn't have been half as good as it is.
He is supported brilliantly by a talented Chinese starcast. 'The Flowers of War' is a movie that shouldn't be missed.
