Review of The Flower of My Secret (1995) by David H — 07 Jul 2010
A beautiful Romatic Drama with a light Dark Comedy about a Female Writer who wrote 20 Years Love Storys and is sick of it and now write Darker Stuff and fall in Love with a other Man while married to a Soldier it is a refreshing that this Time the Protagonists are comparative "Regular" People with "Normal" Feelings and Desires again great directed with beautiful Music and Landscape Pictures there also a few extraordinary Scenes like little Balls falling from a Table and the Camera following the Balls from a Close Up View or a Close Up View to something similar to knitting of Old Spanish Ladys in a Village overall there are shown the Life of the Majority of the Spanish People in contrast to the Freaks from Almodovar's other Films there is also a Scene in which the Audience see a TV were the first Show is a Screaming Contest and the second Spanish Folk Muscians this Movie reminds in such Scenes of a Werner Herzog Film.
