Richard Gere and Claire Danes and YES, it's really Avril Lavine with a busted front tooth!

Unfortunately, her silent acting is probably the best performance in the movie. Richard Gere delivers, but for some reason it's the same overreacting Claire Danes character that people can expect. I just didn't feel it.

Her tears weren't as salty, I guess, as they were in William Shakespear's Romeo and Juliette.

But, really, the story carries itself, but the acting was merely so-so at best. I have to applaud Mister Gere for his performance and a certain bad guy, but perhaps the directing was the straw that broke the camel's back in this one. Editing, something made this racy movie fall flat in hindsight.

It could have been much better, but unlike 8MM it had no vengeful scene that forced the chill bumps from my skin. It was simply a 'rental' movie that I could understand if it were an after school show kids were made to watch to help them understand the torment they'd be putting some caseworkers through had these children been abducted by the weirdest and sneakiest bad actors available.

I have to give 'The Flock' a six out of 10.

I'm sorry, Mister Gere. Ever since 'Primal Fere' I've been rooting for you! Too bad, this time, you had no Ed Norton and the lady from Fargo to help the film you worked on worth my praise.

Claire Danes should never be allowed to cry in a movie ever again. It's just too... real, but always seems to be a little too much for the situation at hand.
